It can be manufactured through two main methods: wet felting and dry needle – punch felting. The produced industrial wool felt comes in a variety of thicknesses, densities, and compositions to meet different needs. It has several excellent properties, such as maintaining its physical properties during use, being highly absorbent and moisture – wicking, which can seal out lubricants and oil. It also has good sound and vibration dampening effects, does not ravel or fray, and is resistant to wear and tear. Additionally, it can act as a filtration system in gas and oil applications and serves as excellent padding for moving parts in machinery. Moreover, industrial wool felt has natural fire – retardant properties.

Industrial wool felt is widely used in many industries, including the automotive industry for gaskets, dryer seals, vibration cushioning, and dust shields; in the manufacturing industry for filtration, sealing, and padding; and in the construction industry for acoustic panels.
