The 50-year-old environmental activist has completely transformed his Hollywood Hills property in recent years, and it appears the renovation is now complete.
The 4,500-square-foot hilltop home offers stunning views and, as recent aerial photos show, is in keeping with Leo’s eco-friendly philosophy.
The outside of the house is dotted with numerous cacti, which are popular with environmentalists because they require little water.
There are also other drought-tolerant plants, a small lawn and a roof filled with eco-friendly solar panels.
The luxurious home features five bedrooms, eight and a half bathrooms, and a private mountainside spa that includes a hot tub built into the pool, a separate one-person sauna, and comfy cedar chairs.
Leo also has a large telescope at the end of the pool where he can enjoy stunning views of the city and surrounding landscape, as well as an extra large fire pit surrounded by built-in seating, lounge chairs, umbrellas, and a luxurious custom king-size daybed.
Other notable features include a spacious lower level room with views of the hills and a private basketball court with tennis court.
Leonardo bought the home from Madonna for $2.5 million in the 1990s. According to Realtor.com, the home is actually two adjacent properties, the second of which was purchased in 1994 for a total of $4 million.
He purchased the four-bedroom, six-bathroom home for an undisclosed price in 2003. In 2018, he purchased the four-bedroom, four-bathroom mansion next door for $4.85 million.
In December 2022, Leo spent $10.5 million to purchase a 3,500-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bathroom home located on the north side of his estate.
Leo’s home now sits on more than five acres and has 15 bedrooms and 15,000 square feet of living space.
The actor recently celebrated his 50th birthday with a lavish, star-studded bash at a private residence in Los Angeles.
The evening saw the return of legendary movie stars, including director Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw. The guest list also included Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Leonardo’s close friend Tobey Maguire.
The highlight of the evening was a performance by music icon Stevie Wonder, who sang Leonardo’s “Happy Birthday,” which deeply touched the actor.
The star-studded lineup continued to shine throughout the evening, with guests including Anderson Paak, Dr. Dre, Jamie Foxx, Paris Hilton, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Mark Ruffalo, and Robin Thicke.
Leonardo’s father, George DiCaprio, attended the wedding with his wife Peggy, and Leonardo’s mother, Ilmelin, attended with her husband, David Ward.
