Every road.cc product is thoroughly tested to ensure a full understanding of its performance. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists, and we trust their objectivity. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are factual, reviews are, by their very nature, informed opinions, not final conclusions. We don’t intentionally break anything (except car locks), but we do try to find weak points in any design. The overall rating is not an average of other ratings: it reflects the product’s features and value – value determined by how the product compares to products of similar features, quality and price.3-6feet mat (3) - 副本
The Muc-Off Absorbent Bike Mat is an effective way to protect the floors of your living room, workshop, shed, or anywhere else you store your bikes. It lives up to its name and is extremely absorbent, capable of soaking up any water, grease, or oil that drips off your bike after cleaning and servicing it (or after it’s been neglected due to riding on wet, muddy roads). It’s a little more expensive than some other options, but it’s a good option if you have to store your bike indoors, especially if you rent a house.
While this mat is perfect for parking your bike after washing (and lubing) it so you don’t have to worry about water or oil dripping onto the floor, I’ve found it to be very useful when I’m riding and I hit a wet or muddy road and don’t have time to wash my bike right away. I can leave the bike for a few hours until I have time to wash it without worrying about greasy water dripping onto the floor and staining my bike.
As someone who has rented bikes and stored them indoors for the past few years, I know how unnerving it is to come back a few hours later and see a small black hole underneath the bike with oil and water leaking out of the frame…
With the Muc-Off Bike Mat, you don’t have to worry about “will it stain my floors?” or worse, “how much is it going to cost me?” because its “technical, highly absorbent surface” does its job well.
I’ve been keeping my bike on this mat for a few weeks now, and it works great: any dripping grease is collected without leaving a stain on the floor. And I’ve found that it can also be used as a turbo training mat. The product is 2 meters long, fits a turbo training mat and a bike, and is also great at absorbing sweat. Muc-Off claims that it can hold up to two liters of liquid, which is impressive. And because it has a “textured, non-slip rubber base,” it stays in place pretty well.
Despite its length, it is only 40 cm wide and can only fit one bike; if you have two bikes and want to fit both on the mat, you will have to buy a second one. It would be better if it were wider.
At just over 2kg, I’d definitely call it heavy, but it’s easy to roll up and take with you somewhere if needed – like if you’re going on holiday and don’t want to pay extra for dirtying the floor of your Airbnb or hotel room.
I think the classic Muc-Off in pink and black looks cool and if it gets a little dirty it can be washed off with a hose or sprayer.
At around £50 it’s not cheap and while you could argue that a towel would have the same effect, a towel certainly wouldn’t repel the same oil. This mat is really strong and durable so I understand the price.
The Finish Line Absorb-it Mat tries to achieve a similar effect, albeit with a lighter weight and slightly less stylish look, but it’s much cheaper at £22.99, although it has gone up a few pounds since Tass tested it in 2017.
Overall, I really like this mat. It helps me keep my rental bike clean, whether I’m riding it or it’s a little dirty after washing it. I like the look of it, and the pink adds a nice pop of color. It’s a good choice if you want to protect your floors.
Please tell us what this product is used for and who it is intended for. What do the manufacturers say about it? How does this differ from your own feelings?
Muc-Off says: “Keep your bike floor as clean and protected as your bike with the Muc-Off Absorbent Bike Mat. It has a high-tech, highly absorbent surface that soaks up any excess protective spray or lubricant that drips from your bike.”
This mat is ideal for use in the workshop, home or garage and will fit almost any bike. Whether you choose an enduro bike, trail bike, downhill bike, road bike or e-bike.
Textured non-slip rubber backing minimizes slipping on smooth surfaces while trapping all debris inside the mat to keep surfaces clean.
This mat is more expensive than others, but it is very durable and I am sure it will last a long time, so the price is justified.
Works great, leaves my floors fresh and clean and when I put multiple turbos on them it does a great job of removing sweat and grease from the floors.
How does the price compare to similar products on the market, including those recently tested on road.cc?
This mat lives up to its name: it protects my floors and looks cool at the same time. If the price was a little lower, I would give it a higher rating, but I have no complaints about this product and I think Muc-Off did a good job.
I regularly do the following types of riding: road racing, commuting, touring, club riding, fixed gear/singlespeed cycling, mountain biking,

Having a lining is better than not having one, but its “versatility” leaves much to be desired and it results in a large waste of material.
