You’ve heard us rave about the HigherDOSE Sauna Blanket, a personal device that lets you sweat without leaving your home. Given the ease of use and functionality of the product, we can’t stress enough that the brand has just released a new infrared cap equipped with over 100 tiny red lights designed to stimulate hair growth.
The concept of red light therapy has gained popularity in recent years, especially for treating acne scars and stimulating hair growth. It’s not uncommon to see people on social media wearing red light therapy masks before bed to look like stormtroopers from Star Wars.
The premise of all this is that red light wavelengths are particularly good at increasing blood flow to certain parts of our bodies, thereby improving cellular function, reducing inflammation, and allowing our cells to absorb more oxygen. HigherDOSE has taken this science and combined it with the functionality of an everyday hat to avoid the aforementioned “stormtrooper” look, which is especially handy if you want to wear a hat during the day. On its website, the brand explains that the product “increases blood flow to the scalp, rejuvenates hair follicles, reduces hair loss, and strengthens hair roots.”
The hat itself is pretty simple. But like the mackerel cut, the party is in the back… or in this case, down there. Looking at the front, you’ll see a canvas cap with a black hem and the HigherDOSE logo stitched into it. Maybe you just like the brand and want to represent it. However, the adjustable strap on the back features a small power button that activates the 120 medical-grade red LEDs inside. The red light inside emits a wavelength of 650 nm (nanometers), which HigherDOSE notes is specifically designed to stimulate hair growth.
The brand recommends using the treatment or wearing the cap for 10 minutes at a time. It only takes 10 minutes a day, and I can wear it while doing anything—it’s the easiest part of my daily routine. Once the time is up, the cap will beep to let you know the treatment is complete. The cap can typically be used 8-10 times without recharging, but a flashing green light on the device will let you know when the battery is low.
One of the main pros we have to point out is that the device is cordless, so you don’t have to sit next to a power outlet for 10 minutes waiting for the red light to do its magic to your hair. You can carry it with you if you want to use it on the go, or use it in the comfort of your home.
We are still testing it thoroughly for you, so stay tuned for our thoughts and impressions on this hair growth product. However, if you want to avoid the waiting time, feel free to buy this hat below.
