As a single woman in her early twenties with no children, I never thought I’d be walking through an airport with a diaper bag on my back, but here I am.
I once read an article about a flight attendant who said that a diaper backpack is the best carry-on luggage you can have, even if you don’t have kids, and my recent impromptu flight to New York City provided the perfect opportunity to test that theory. I brought the best-selling Dagne Dover Indi Diaper Backpack Medium as my trusty carry-on, and spoiler alert: I’ll never have to travel with it again.
Diaper bags are designed to make your life easier, and the Dagne Dover Indi bag does just that. It holds all the essentials, including liquids, snacks, a laptop, and all the other things I usually throw in there and forget about. The best part? You’d never guess it was used to store baby bottles.
Even if you don’t have kids, this diaper bag is a great backpack alternative. It’s the lowest sale price we’ve ever seen, so now’s the time to take advantage of it.
Just check out our Dagne Dover review to see what our product experts have to say about Dagne Dover: We love this brand’s bags. It’s clear that every design is carefully thought out, and the Indi backpack is a great example of that.
Just when you think you’ve counted all the pockets, you find another one. The two front zippered pockets conveniently open to reveal a large pocket that provides easy access to tissues, lip balm, and more. A peek inside reveals plenty of storage, including two mesh pockets on the sides that are surprisingly large considering its compact design. I use this mini bag to carry my Airpods and charger, and the changing mat is also a great addition for travel at home.
This diaper bag comes in small, medium, and large sizes, with about the same number of convenient storage pockets in each size. The bag has a wide, double zipper that zips up the side to reduce bulk, but can be unzipped when the bag is full.
It’s roomier than my usual bag, allowing me to fit as much stuff as I want. Including my laptop, which fits easily in the internal mesh pocket along with a stack of magazines. There’s also enough room for an extra pair of sunglasses, as well as a quick stash of liquids that need to get through security.
The Indi medium backpack is perfect for solo travel. The side bottle pocket easily holds essentials, like a full-size Hydroflask water bottle. My favorite feature is the hidden wallet-sized back pocket, which provides quick and easy access to my credit cards.
Even when the bag was completely stuffed, there was still some room left. The zipper was easy to zip up and didn’t feel like I was carrying a ton of textbooks, but I still decided to use the zipper on the back of the bag to put it in my carry-on. Luckily, it didn’t fall over, but I had to use both hands to roll it across the carpet.
The Indi Diaper Backpack comes in a small size, which has a narrower fit but doesn’t have the storage compartment of the medium and large sizes. I like the soft neoprene material, but some customers have noted that it can get fuzzy over time. If you’re taking your baby on a plane, I recommend looking into a more durable backpack like the Lululemon New Parent Backpack.
A diaper backpack is the best travel bag you never knew you needed. Luckily, the Indi Diaper Backpack by Dagne Dover is stylish and comfortable without being too intrusive.
