Of everything handed down to us, no single product surpassed the cult status, or near-ubiquity, of the Fisher-Price Rock ’n Play Sleeper. My friend C. gave me hers right before my son was born, but I could have got one from G. or K. or A. or L. The Rock ’n Play is everywhere, and so are its evangelists. It’s a lightweight, collapsible sleeper in which the baby’s head rests at an upward incline, cushioned on either side. In the years since the Rock ’n Play hit the market, in 2009, any new parent or parent-to-be would have been able to find thousands of comments online attesting to its unsurpassed soporific qualities—its magical ability to restore the sanity and REM patterns of sleep-starved caregivers.

PACE: I do love seeing the world, and being in those hotel rooms. It’s such an incredible thing playing a character all day, and then at night you go home to this hotel and you wake up in the morning and you don’t quite know where you are.

A: They made seven changes to the 2004 KX125: (1) The compression was raised. For 2004 it’s 8.5 to 11.1:1. More compression typically means more power. (2) The exhaust port was reshaped to improve overall flow. (3) The gap between the power valves was reduced for better sealing, especially when the valves are in the fully closed position at the exhaust port. (4) The exhaust pipe is all-new from the head pipe back. (5) Internal pressure on the piston ring has been reduced to lessen friction and allow for a freer rev. (6) The carburetor’s air intake manifold is shorter and straighter. (7) The angle of the reeds was changed from 90 degrees to 45 degrees and the reeds themselves are shorter and a secondary stepped reed is used for auxiliary boost.

For breastfeeding mothers in Central Minnesota in the past, donating excess breast milk may have involved driving to the Twin Cities or finding dry ice to ship their milk. Now, though, making such donations is much more convenient. Since March 27, people have been able to drop off donated milk at St. Cloud Hospital’s milk depot. The milk is intended for medically vulnerable infants in need. “If we can have this for (infants), it’s really saved their life and helped them stay healthier,” says Jeanne Friebe, a nurse and lactation consultant at the birthing center and depot coordinator. The St. Cloud depot collects milk from prescreened donors by appointment. The donations are collected and processed by the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies, which became accredited last month.

It comes with seven sapphire-coated attachments: a coarse filing disk, a fine filing disk, a cone for calluses and dry skin, a callus rasp for heels, a cylindrical milling cutter for thick difficult nails, a felt cone for polishing, and a flame milling cutter which sounds scary but is a tool to remove ingrown toenails.
