In May 2022, I bought a new Tata Nexon KZA diesel MT. I wanted to try ceramic coating on my new car after completing the post-delivery formalities. Ever since I bought my first car in 2010, I have made it a habit to clean and polish it myself at least once a quarter.
While I waited, I visited a few garages to inquire about ceramic coating. The rates seemed high for a compact SUV — anywhere from 25,000 to 45,000 — and we would have to take the car for scheduled maintenance twice a year. The local Tata authorized dealer priced the Nexon at 25,000 km with three subsequent services every six months.
After conducting a thorough research on graphene coatings and their applications, it was found that 10H is the best, although a bit expensive, but more effective than 9H. 10H ceramic has a high gloss surface and a long service life, it can also be applied to windshields and other glass surfaces. I decided to go with Weiruixin 10H Ceramic Coating 3.0, which comes with a 2-year warranty. The product is available on Amazon India, ID verification is required at checkout, and it takes 2-3 weeks to ship from New York.

This was my first attempt and it took me two days to complete. The first day is spent on the entire cleaning process: washing the car with shampoo, cleaning the surface with a damp clay cloth, and then wiping it dry with a microfiber cloth to remove any water droplets from the paint.
Apply scratch and streak remover to the surface where needed and gently wipe with a microfiber cloth to remove streaks. Newer cars are less likely to develop swirl marks than older cars.
The car was polished with Auto Bros. Ceramic Wax (not sure if it is actually ceramic or just a marketing ploy) and then allowed to dry completely. NOTE: Rub the surface thoroughly with a microfiber cloth until the wax is completely absorbed, then let sit for at least 3 hours to allow the wax to soak in and dry.
The next day, remove any remaining dust with a dry cloth, polish the surface again, and then apply the ceramic coating. Start by applying paint to the main parts – hood, fenders, doors, trunk lid and bumpers.
Application Method – Wrap the coating sponge in a cloth and apply 3-4 drops of coating liquid to the cloth. Starting from the hood, apply the liquid first to half of the hood, moving horizontally in straight lines, then moving vertically to cover the gaps. Then coat the other half of the hood in the same way while the first half dries (it takes 5 minutes to dry), and wipe the coated surface with a rag in a circular motion. Always wipe the surface with a dry cloth before applying the coating and change the applicator cloth when the coating has hardened.
By repeating the steps above, I completed covering the entire car, including the alloy wheels, except for the roof.
The plan was to do the work three months after the first coat was applied and complete it in one day. This time I limited myself to washing the car with shampoo and then cleaning the surface with isopropyl alcohol (mix isopropyl alcohol and water in a 1:3 ratio in a spray bottle). Rinse with water again and wipe with a dry microfiber cloth to remove any water droplets from the paint. The car was then polished with ceramic wax paste and booked into Auto Bros for long-term use. Once I was sure the wax was completely absorbed and the surface was completely dry, I began applying the second layer of graphene. The application process is the same, but use a new microfiber towel to wipe off the coating. This time I finished by painting the shiny interior parts.
I applied 3 coats to the outside and 2 coats to the inside of the windshield, sunroof, rear window and all window panes at 3 different intervals. It helps improve the look of my car, keeps the interior cool in the hot sun and saves money on sun tint.
For the first 2 days, protect the car from dust and coated surfaces. Do not wash, wet, or expose the coated vehicle to water or rain for at least 1 week. The final effect can be seen after five days: a real shine and mirror effect appears. The hydrophobic effect is good at first, but then gradually disappears. In order to prolong the service life, it is better to avoid unnecessary high-pressure washing. A 50ml bottle of Weiruixin 10H is enough to apply two layers (excluding the roof area).
Overall, after nine months of observation, I think it is a good value for money. VeriSign 10H Ceramic Coating provides good results and saves additional costs. It gives the car body a shine, protects from direct sunlight, limits the occurrence of minor scratches, keeps the interior cooler, makes cleaning easier and protects the paint.
