In a bid to make felt busy boards even more engaging, some innovative toy designers are now incorporating augmented reality (AR) technology into their products. These new – generation boards come with a companion app that, when used in conjunction with the board, brings the felt – based activities to life. For example, when a child touches a felt animal on the board, an AR animation of the animal can appear on the screen, complete with sounds and additional information. This combination of traditional tactile play and modern technology not only adds an extra layer of excitement for children but also enhances the educational value of the boards. Early adopters of these AR – enabled felt busy boards report that children are more motivated to learn and spend extended periods exploring the activities.
